J&J Oyster Bar opened in Fort Worth’s Cultural District in the late 1970’s. It began in a tiny building built from surplus aluminum from an old bomber plant.  As one of Fort Worth’s first purveyor of fresh shucked oysters and a complimentary menu of shrimp, seafood dishes, gumbo and hush puppies the little Oyster Bar often had a line waiting for more!

 

Some twenty years later a location a few blocks north was revamped and the Oyster Bar moved in and the menu grew and patrons began enjoying a nice outdoor patio too.

 

The food has been consistently great and the staff, many who have been with us for years are really friendly.  Folks drop in here for a cold beer and some delicious gumbo often. Many still prefer the counter seating to cozy up and bring back memories of the first little Oyster Bar.

 

We truly believe it is our fine customers that keep us dedicated to a lasting commitment to continue to serve and entertain them for many years to come.
